Because of my diverse musical background , I’ve always been able to pull from different skills in order to create my own style. I have distilled this acquired knowledge from my 20+ years career into these lessons, hopefully giving the student a unique insight to unlock their own talents and gifts. After all that the guitar has given me, I feel a sense of duty to pass on the knowledge and strategies to the next generation of young guitarists.

Alex Walker, founder SSG

Alex Walker is a guitarist, composer, producer and music educator of 20+ years.  He holds a Masters Degree in Classical Guitar Performance from the Hartt School, and has performed on some of the most coveted stages around the world.  From appearances on the Tonite Show with Jay Leno, Conan O’Brien, as artist-in-residence at Utrecht Conservatory in the Netherlands, to performing at Lincoln Center in New York City, Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, and CMT. Mr. Walker is equally comfortable on the pop and rock stage as he is in the classical music world. He has studied with the premier guitarists of our time, Manuel Barrueco, Oscar Ghiglia, Antigoni Goni, and Richard Provost.

Walker’s original music recently appeared in the 2022 Lexus RX Hybrid national commercial. His compositions are regularly found in film and television.
